RECYCLING YARD

 

Through the activity “recycling yard” we encouraged the children to understand and apply proper waste management procedures.

In the activities “RECYCLE” the children also learned the importance of gaining skills relating to reuse

the goods and waste sorting.

  

                                               

That way, in their play with waste material, the children created new toys such as ECO BAG PLANET. We encouraged the development of pre-reading and premathematical skills and competencies.

 

The children have, through a series of activities relating to waste reuse, recycling and waste sorting, gained an understanding of the importance of conserving our environment and that the future of our planet is our collective responsibility.

Everyday we faced creative challenges. We needed to figure out how to turn waste into engaging artistic activities. However, before all that, we had to teach the children about some of the ways to turn waste into something useful. Due to that, our center for creativity and innovation became a rich treasury filled with different materials, packaging and cardboard that we collected in collaboration with parents. We still plan on continuing with artistic activities with natural and waste materials, fostering ecological awareness and skill and offering the children a chance to educate themselves on sustainable development.
