HEALTH AND WELL BEING - DIRTY TOY WASHING

Kids love to play with water. In this activity, we were washing toy cars.  Kids noticed that sequins are not on toys anymore. We talked about dirty and clean toys and why are clean toys so important. The books that we were reading were: „Jana and hygiene“ , „Mrljek and Prljek are celebrating dirty birthday“

CORRECT HAND WASHING

How to wash our hands correctly? Here is step-by-step how kids in the kindergarten learn how to wash their hands! First, we have all kind of dirt and bacteria on our hands. We demonstrated it with sequins mixed up with gel hand cleaner. Sequins were now glued to their hands, and then we let them play with the toys. The children noticed that the sequins are glued to their toys too. Then they went to the bathroom and washed their hands with warm water and soap, and noticed the sequins came off.

SENSORY PLAY WITH AUTUMN FRUITS AND ROCKS

We had some corns, and we were shucking  it and removing the kernels. The children had the opportunity to practice their fine motor skills. The husks are course and textured, the silk is soft and fluffy and the corn itself is hard and bumpy. The practice of grabbing onto the husks are a terrific way to work those fingers and hands, helping  to strenghten them. We supplement this activity with photos of fruits and vegetables, talking about who likes them and how healthy they are for our bodies.
