HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
With spring having arrived with warmer days our children were invited to celebrate it - the arrival of more active sport season by participating in Springy activities.
All the groups gathered in sport field to warm up with music and prepare our bodies for the activities. After warm-up each group started its way through four different activities.
Game "Viruss". One kid was chosen as the leader (Virus). The Spring virus wanted to catch children; children had to run away from it. If the virus managed to catch somebody, s/he had to ho to the hospital (at the side of the playground) and take a medicine (eat a slice of carrot). Three children being catched, another "Virus" was chosen.
"Little spring rain". All the children cought hold of the coulourful "umbrella" (colourful parachute). They rotated with it resembling the sun, but when the teacher called out "Rain!", children had to hide themselves under the colourful umbrella.
When the rain and sun shines simultaneously, a "Rainbow" can be seen. Children were divided into two teams, they took the gymnastic wand with the colourful ribbon, run around the cone and gave the wand to the next runner. They had to be very quick to glow and please everybody.
In "Sporty art" stage some children pretended to be sportsman and showed some sporty posture, the others tried to depict them looking through the drawing frame and trying to draw them.
One of the most significant tasks (if living on the countryside) in spring is to plant garden, including potatoes. In the last stage ("Potatoe planting") children were asked to practice in potatoe planting. They were divided in two teams. After a start signal the first child took a ball (potatoe) and carried it to the "field". The next runner had to put his/her feet after the last potatoe and place his/her potatoe at his/her toe. The race continued while all potatoes were planted. Children were encouraged to make their potatoe furrows as stright as possible.
At the end children had a little dancing in sport field while all the teams returned from tasks. Children were praised for doing really good at sport and got little presents so that they can continue spending actively their time in playgrounds, practicing various skills and spending time healthy in open air.
Let's be healthy!
