NATURE PROTECTION
In order to be able to take care of the environment first we must learn about it, explore it, recognize realia in it to be able to tell what is wrong, what it lacks or, on the contrary, that everything is fine with it.
Our oldest group has learned a lot about trees during this year and now it came time to apply thier knowledge in practice. They started with identifying and counting the trees in the territory of our own kindergarten.
Having done that, it was decided to go for a farther HIKE to explore our nature, closest environment and to add to their knowledge about it. As a result all our kindergarten groups decided to go for a hike - each of their own possibilities. Furthermore, the time spent in fresh air benefited to their health.
At the beginning of the hike "Owlet" group with the help of "a miracle sac" was divided into four teams - plants, birds, bugs and trees. Each group had to investigate in the forest that specific realia in nature. Each team received a pallet with a sheet of paper and a pencil where to put down their observations. At the end each group presented their findings.
The aim of "Hedgehog" group was to go the long way through the forest in the depths of which lives a forester. He told children about forest, showed and invited to feel the furs of forest animals, showed how big are antlers of different forest animals and introduced children with old tools that helped foresters. The forester answered to childrens' questions, also the one - why animals were killed. Children also saw a "woodpecker's dining room". The housekeeper regaled children with fresh birch tree juice and dried apples.
The "Sunflower" group also went a long way to a farmstead of our worker to yield to the magic of a fairy-tale like activities in her countryside conjured by the housekeeper.
Another day after hikes the Black crow, who had seen everything, invited all groups to come together in a forest enclosure and tell each other what they have seen, what knowledge they have gained.
