 NATURE PROTECTION

One morning Squirrel and Deer came to our kindergarten. They were very sad and came for help to children. There was a trash stuck in their furcoats and they asked children to take it away.

Squirrel and Deer felt pitty also for the other forest animals who might get into the same trouble. Children felt compassion for the animals that they depicted also in their drawings where they reflected when the animals are sad  and when happy.

As a result the whole kindergarten decided - Let's help our animals and nature! It was decided to organise a clean-up event. This good news reached also our defender of nature and chidrens’ national hero Pigman (not the real one but his cousin J). Before the clean-up event he came and wished good luck to the groups. Everybody agreed that they would collect garbage and put it into black sacs marked accordingly – green for glass, blue for paper, yellow for plastic and grey for metal. Children received gloves for work and special waste collector sticks. Everything being ready, everybody set to work. Each group chose the distance that was suitable for their age. Those were forest edges, roadsides, favourite dayly walk routes that were freed from garbage.

Children depicted their brightest impressions from their immensive work.

During the clean-up event children observed that people still need education in environmental protection, especially where to put empty bottles, packs and other waste. It seems that not all gorownups know it. But it makes us proud that our "nature specialists" know many things about garbage, its collection, sorting and reuse.
