CROATIA MEETING

From 23.5. - 25.5. In 2022, the partners attended a meeting in Croatia and for the first time we met in person. We were all in a good mood and very excited. After the brief introduction, the children from kindergarten Prečko presented traditional Croatian children's songs accompanied on the piano by teacher Sandra Smodek.

Project coordinator Helina Aaboja introduced the participants to the project, the goals and the results.

The Croatian preschool education is one of the highest quality education systems in Europe, and the challenges it faces were presented by Monika Pažur, PhD.

Prečko Kindergarten has a long tradition and an important role in the local community. The director of the kindergarten Kosjenka Lovrec - Marinović presented the history of the kindergarten, the present, but also the future plans with a little help of children and teacher Marina Prpić. An important part of the future is sustainability, and participants could hear how it is implemented in the kindergarten from pedagogue Petra Mršo and taecher Klara Bahtić.

Before lunch, the partners had the opportunity to see the rooms and foyers of the kindergarten and hear how the educational work is carried out in the kindergarten Prečko. The official part ended with a short video by the project coordinator Nikolina Bevanda, with which we presented the natural beauties of Croatia. We spent the afternoon in a relaxed atmosphere walking through Maksimir Park and through the Upper Town.

On the second day, teacher Maja Cindrić led a guided fantasy as a short introduction. Partners as well as guests from other kindergartens had the task of putting together the natural beauties of Croatia. As the topic was climate, everyone got to know the diversity of climatic conditions in Croatia through the game.

The day was filled with a presentations of the activities of all partners. Before the break we made a watermill according to the template of the Bluebell group and with the guidance of teachers Nikolina Bevanda and Maja Huzjak.

We spent the afternoon on a trip to Medvedgrad. The day was wonderful for getting to know the history of Zagreb (with expert guidance in English). but also to see the wonderful view from Medvednica.

On the third day, teachers Maja Cindrić and Ksenija Hadžić of the Cyclamen group presented the Mural activity with a video presentation and showed the audience a very interesting way of learning about the seasons and the weather. The group Violet and teachers Josip Hrgović and Andrea Mioković formed a meteorological center, showed how they did through video documentation. The children of the Cherry group together with their teachers Višnja Rom and Marjanka Lipak showed how the butterfly garden is created. A short walk to the Marles facility led us to an orchard, a rised bed garden and a butterfly garden as indicators of sustainable development in the kindergarten.

The exhibition Little Steps for a Greener World as part of the tour was a visual addition to the important task of the kindergarten curriculum - sustainable development.

The Tie workshop gave everyone the opportunity to express their gratitude to the other participants.

Meteorologist Dunja Mazocco Drvar showed how we can help the planet Earth to reduce the consequences of climate change.

The third and final day ended with a presentations of a places in nature. All partners showed the change of the seasons either through a presentation, a photo book or, like the host, a song performed by a children. The authors of the lyrics and music of the song "The birch tree" are educators Ksenija Hadžić and Maja Cindrić.

Project coordinator Helina Aaboja showed the e-book as an overview of all the topics we covered in the project. The director of Prečko kindergarten thanked those present for the wonderful three days and we said goodbye with cake and song. The farewell was complete at a joint dinner in the evening. Project See - our nature! brought many friendships, experiences, but also opportunities for further cooperation. We came to a common conclusion that the project met all the goals and even more. What a wonderful journey it was!
